July’s Dish of the Month was so late that it never happened (although it would have been the amazing barbecue pulled pork taco tapas that I had in Manzanilla whilst on holiday in Malaga, which I wrote about anyway!) so I’ve moved straight on to August. Mr W and I went for an amazing meal at one of my favourite Cardiff restaurants, Fish at 85 a few weeks ago. Everything we ate was fantastic, particularly a sharing platter of starters that John, the fishmonger there, put together for us specially, but Dish of the Month has to go to their awesome chips. The triple cooked, thick cut chips served at Fish at 85 are consistently excellent, and – in my humble opinion – are the best chips in Cardiff. Crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside, never greasy or soggy and the perfect complement to one of Fish at 85’s oh-so-simple fish dishes. The photo speaks for itself!
